Operation CHOPPER

27/28 Sept 1941

During the night of 27/28 September, British landing ship PRINCE LEOPOLD, accompanied by MGB.316, MGB.314, MGB.312, landed a Commando unit at St Vaast, near Cherbourg in Operation CHOPPER.

Destroyers FERNIE and VANITY provided covering patrol.

The force withdrew after obtaining information.
